Hector Espitia Navarro received both his Bachelors and Masters decrees in Software Engineering and Computer Science from the Universidad del Valle, in Cali, Colombia and is currently a third year Bioinformatics PhD student working in Dr. Jordan's Laboratory. Hector's research efforts have been mostly focused on the development of computational genomics tools for epidemiology. For the past two years he has been working on developing STING, an alignment free analysis software.
