About
I am a first year Master of Bioinformatics student at Georgia Institute of Technology. Currently I am a Graduate Research Assistant at the McDonald lab, an Ovarian Cancer Biology lab. I am conducting a project Analyzing the driver gene mutations across Primary, Metastatic and Recurrent Ovarian tumor samples from the same patient. I hypothesize that there may be de novo driver gene mutations in the metastatic tumor not present in the primary tumor that may be involved in poor response to treatment and or be involved in epithelial to mesynchymal transition, facilitating spread. I plan to annotate the driver gene mutations and figure out the effect each mutation might have on the translated protein and the entire cell at large.
